Saccharomyces cerevisiae GenDR Dietary Restriction Gene Manipulation: VMA2

Gene Information (Entrez Gene ID: 852424)

Symbol
VMA2
Aliases
VAT2
Name
H(+)-transporting V1 sector ATPase subunit B
Organism
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (AnAge)
Entrez Gene ID
852424

Potential relevance to dietary restriction and ageing

Observations

Yeast cells were subjected to dietary restriction (0.05% glucose compared to 2% glucose as a control). Deletion of VMA2 resulted in a 49% decrease in mean replicative lifespan compared to the control.
