Caenorhabditis elegansGenAge entry for tdp-1 (Caenorhabditis elegans)

Gene information (ID: 1751)

Symbol
tdp-1
Name
Protein TDP-1
Organism
Caenorhabditis elegans (AnAge)

Potential relevance to longevity and/or ageing

Observations
TDP-1 loss of function mutants display reduced proteotoxicity in worm models and an extended lifespan, which is DAF-16 dependent but not HSF-1 dependent. The increase in lifespan is also accompanied by a reduction in fertility, slower growth and locomotor deficits.
% change in max lifespan
Maximum lifespan is aproximately 20% higher.
% change in avg or median lifespan
Average lifespan is aproximately 20% higher.
Lifespan Effect
Increase
Genetic Manipulation
Loss of function mutation
