Similarly to other flatworms, this species has a high capacity for regeneration. Studies have shown that specimens were able to reach lifespans of several years, and that they underwent phases of growth and degrowth. These phases of growth and degrowth may be the reason why there was an absence of metabolic ageing. A median lifespan of 34 months has been observed [1463].
