Similarly to other flatworms, this species has an extraordinary regeneration capacity, owing to the presence of neoblasts [1428]. However, said regeneration was not found to affect aging. Asexual flatworms, where regeneration plays a major role in, may experience a reversal of the ageing process, unlike their sexual counterparts [1429].
At around 38 weeks, these flatworms suffer from morphological changes due to their advanced age [1430].
