These trees have been reported to live for over 1000 years. Ring width has been shown to change with age, especially between the ages of 100 and 200. Old trees have lower expression of genes associated with cell division, while retaining their expression of genes associated with disease resistance. Additionally, these trees have been found to not exhibit signs of senescence [1432].
