- Observations
Dolphins, like humans, have post-reproductive lifespans. Additionally, studies have identified the presence of amyloid deposits and tau pathology in the brain of dolphins. These animals may possibly be a natural model for both metabolic syndromes and Alzheimer's disease [1391].
