One demographic study suggested these are fast ageing animals with a maximum longevity of 7.7 years [0600]. One specimen lived 12.6 years in captivity [0669]. Maximum longevity could be underestimated, though, and further studies are necessary. It has also been reported that these animals can live up to 32.2 years in captivity [0979], but this has not been verified.
