One captive specimen lived for 15 years [0669]. Considering the longevity of similar species, however, maximum longevity of these animals is likely underestimated. It has also been reported that these animals can live up to 35.5 years in captivity [0979], which is plausible but has not been verified; the same study reported that these animals can breed from about 7 years of age in captivity.
