Knockdown of IGFBP5 in old human umbilical endothelial cells lead to a partial reduction of the senescence phenotype, including changes in cell morphology, increased cell proliferation, and decreased SA-beta-galactosidase staining. In contrast, overexpression of IGFBP5 in young cells leads to premature senescence.
